Grand Slam 2006 Part 1

Back from Grand Slam 2006! I went to the Firefly, Lost and Supernatural panels and learned that my new camera still doesn't want to focus from a distance, but if I take 70 or so pics I can get a few decent ones. I guess that's what digital photography is all about; quantity over quality.

First up was the Firefly panel. Adam, Summer and Morena were there.

Next was Lost, which featured Ian (Boone), Evangeline (Kate) and Naveen (Sayid):

And last but not least, Jared P. from Supernatural:

All of the panels were entertaining and everyone today was well-spoken. Jared Padalecki was still adorable and funny, and my son said that his panel was his favorite, which is saying quite a lot considering what a huge Adam Baldwin fan he is! Of course by that time he was busy playing with his Illyria action figure, so he was a happy camper.

I can't really remember much of what was said, which is terrible, but I am sure there will be better reports than mine out there soon enough.

What I do remember:

Adam Baldwin mentioned he was in a new pilot (although he didn't talk about it at all, which disappointed me) and both Morena and Summer are looking. Morena does have an audition on Monday. Summer will be back for one more episode of 4400.

Evangeline Lily was also adorable and a couple of times remarked that she was warned about all the crazy people at cons, and was so pleased to see that everyone was normal. Of course that was BEFORE she did her signing, lol. Ian and Naveen are both so very pretty. Naveen's English accent completely confused my son, and was very, very cute.

I am sure I will remember more later, but that's all I have for you now. I was a good girl today and didn't do any autograph's or photo ops (although I was sorely tempted!) and the only thing I bought, beside the Illyria for my son, was a bootleg Master's of Horror dvd.

Tomorrow is Anthony Stewart Head!! Yes, I WILL be getting his autograph!

he touched me on the arse three DC's ago!
okay, well, at first he really just bumped into me and his handwas just sorta there but he was like "oh! sorry!" and did one of those touch you on both shoulder things. MELT, i did.
ran into him at one of the houseparties the next year then he said "i must be stalking you!" when we ended up crammed next to each other in the Firefly viewing panel room.

Needless to say, I had many many out of body experiences.

He is the hottest man ever.
No shit. I was drooling over him waaaaay before the firefly thing.

i can understand how overwhelming DC can be. I just go for specific panels now as I'm only 3 hours away. But even 6 years ago at my first one there were constant complaints about overcrowdedness and that it had gotten too big. I went away rto oregon and missed 2 uears, and when I came back I almost fainted several times because of the too-many peoples. a lot of commercial types too, now which is strange. and even stranger to say, the committees used to be more women-run. now, mostly guys. i like staring at people but they should have a "viewing room" where you can look at people without getting run over by a crowd. heh.

the FF panel's always so funny and the cast works so well together. At first I thought the phoenomenon was just really good direction and writing from Joss, but now I realise that he must really have handpicked based on chemistry, too.
